The South African Veterinary Association Community Veterinary Clinics (SAVA
CVC) is a project where private veterinarians donate their time and skills to render primary veterinary services to disadvantaged communities or those who have no access to veterinary services.
Elize Mare Photography visited the Dube CVC with Dr Ampie and his team from Pierre van Ryneveldt Veterinary Clinic last week, and I was surprised with the amount of owners and pets that showed up for this service.
We arrived at the Dube Police Station in Wintervelt just after 10am, and already there was a long line of pet owners patiently waiting.
Some of them have walked far to bring their pets for inoculation or treatment... there were dogs big and small and quite a few puppies, dogs on leashes and dogs carried in any form of bag....
If you would like to volunteer your services or would like to donate to the CVC once a month... get in contact with them: www.communityvet.co.za
