The Phoenix has Risen! {Misty Hills Reception launch}

On 4 June 2013 the Reception area of Misty Hills in Muldersdrift was gutted in a fire - Here is an article posted in 2013 on what happened:

"The routine lighting of a cosy fire in the fireplace in the Misty Hills Hotel reception area on a chilly winter morning left a path of destruction after the thatch ceiling caught alight.
The fire that broke out on Tuesday morning 4 June saw Netcare 911, ER24, Muldersdrift SAPS and West Rand EMS (Emergency Management Services) vehicles rushing to the rescue as the multi-million rand establishment almost burnt to the ground.
“We received a fire alert call at about 8.30am that the hotel was on fire,” says Gerhard Nieuwoudt, West Rand EMS regional spokesperson.
On arrival at the scene the EMS crew quickly tackled the job of containing the fire that had already spread to one half of the reception area's thatch roof.
It is believed that the sparks caused by the big chunks of wood in the fireplace could have set the thatch ceiling alight. The chilly wind helped to fan the fire towards the other reception areas.
Sadly, by the time the fire was contained three quarters of the hotel's reception area had already burnt down. Fortunately no one was injured.
When the fire broke out, hotel staff swiftly worked together to remove most of the furniture, computers and other valuable items.
“We were fortunate to save most of the contents. The reception area is a self-contained building and it will be moved to the exhibition hall as a temporary measure,” says Adele Forsyth, CEO of Misty Hills Hotel. "

Last week, I was invited to capture the event of the launch of the rebuilt Reception area and I'm happy to share these images with you!
Guests enjoyed welcome drinks, and a tale from "Dr David Livingstone" entertained the guests to where they entered the new Reception area....
