a Thomas the Train Party {Birthday}

On Saturday Elize Mare Photography captured Sebastien's 3rd Birthday party on location in Centurion.

The theme was Thomas the Train, and the party was hosted at the Centurion Society of Model Engineers.  Grandmom made the most amazing birthday cake I have ever seen, and everyone said it tasted as good as it looked.

I captured some really cute moments of the day, but these are just a quick sneak peek:

Your only 1 year old once {Cake Smash}

Eventhough Elize Mare Photography captured Christopher's 1st Birthday party last month, mommy also had an idea for a Farm themed shoot, with a bit of a cake smash.

Christopher looke super cute in his little denim pants and his check shirt, and the winter grass made for some great background with the blue and red colours we chose.

Exhilarating!

For those of you who don't know me yet... I'm a 'bit' of a Petrol-head... I love fast bikes and fast cars.
My most favorite motorsport event just has to be the SupaDrift Championship - I've been photographing this event for the past two years and the drifters just gets better and better!
Whats even more awesome for me, is that my images from SupaDrift have been published quite a number of times this  year - quite an achievement :)

What is SupaDrift you're asking?
Well it's a relatively new motorsport in SA, well... to quote www.supadrift.co.za:
" The SupaDrift Series is a new motorsport combining the best elements of drifting and world-class eventing. Some call it the ‘slideways crayze’, and it’s a perfect motorsports lifestyle showcase and young persons/adults marketing tool – a turnkey leveraging prospect. The sport features sideways extreme competition between cars that are relevant to today's young populous…fast, colourful and on the edge!"

With the past event, which took place at Dezzi Raceway on KZN Southcoast, I had the guts for the first time ever to get into one of these drift cars with drifter, Jean Mare.

The following will be published in Bobby Nitro's column in the Daily Voice:

Fear….exitement…fear…. adrenaline rush….

These are just some of the things I’ve experienced as I got into Jean Mare’s E36 Wicked Dips BMW for my first ever Drift!
I’ve been photographing this sideways culture for about two years, never had the guts to get in, but Friday before SD05 at Dezzi’s Rollercoaster track, it was time.Going into that first turn, sideways, you don’t know what to expect, but BOY what a rush.Second time around Jean initiated the NOS and the ride was smoother – I LOVED it!It’s fast, it’s sideways, smelling fuel, smelling rubber…. I’m hooked!My first words as I got out of the car?This was awesome, I want to go again!!!

Here are just some of my pics from the event:

Entering the world of blogging

Entering the world of social media can be quite a daunting thing… especially when it comes to perfecting the art of blogging!
I remember how I loathed creative writing at school, but today it seems different. I’m no journalist that’s for sure, but writing about things I love and people I care about is becoming second nature. Sharing special moments through my photography together with a little story… I think it is definitely worthwhile to give it a go!
Let me start off by introducing myself to you.
Elize Mare's photography is not just about Photography.  I love people, and behind the camera I explore the possibilities by I capturing the energy behind the true inspiration – that little something that makes you look twice and capturing that special moment to be Never Forgotten! When my images are enjoyed by others, that special moment can be conveyed to make a lasting impression.
I’ve always loved the idea of photographs, and often played around with my little Kodak camera-friend. What a transition from film to digital!
In late 2008 I graduated to my first SLR camera, and I started part time with my Photography career.
From there I have developed and learnt so much, and I am now proud to say I have my own Photography business…. a full time career.
 The brand “Elize MarĂ© Photography” has been established, covering a wide genre of photographic services like:  Aviation , Motorsport,  Studio and Model photography,  Maternity and Newborn photography,  Wedding photography and Lifestyle photography as well as Birthday parties, events and functions.
    My slogan “Never Forgotten” embodies what I feel my photography is about, as I capture those special moments for my clients.
Some of my work has been published in Newspapers, Magazines and Internet Publications.
